Senior Level Project/Program Manager

ABSC is seeking a Senior Level Project/Program Manager to support the CDAO. From machine learning software development to program and project management, the CDAO is looking for world-class talent driven to tackle tough challenges at the intersection of national security and cutting-edge AI technology. Work is hybrid, some work to be performed on-site in Northern, Virginia. Top Secret security clearance is required.

The CDAO is the lead for all AI work within Department of Defense (DoD) and is responsible for transforming the department. The CDAO is responsible for strengthening and integrating data, artificial intelligence, and digital solutions in the DoD. The CDAO is building a strong foundation for data, analytic, and AI-enabled capabilities to be developed and fielded at scale.

The Senior Level Project/Program Manager will support the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) in driving AI and data integration initiatives within the Department of Defense (DoD). This individual will manage complex projects in the realm of AI, machine learning, and big data, ensuring these initiatives align with DoD’s goals to transform and enhance its data, AI, and digital capabilities.

Key responsibilities will include overseeing the development and implementation of AI and machine learning software, applying Agile methodologies in an MLOps and DevSecOps environment, and leading teams in delivering cutting-edge technology solutions at scale. The role requires expertise in managing large, cross-functional projects, including tracking personnel utilization, budgets, and ensuring alignment with DoD priorities.

The position also requires strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders across the DoD, and the ability to maintain high-level security clearances (Top Secret, SCI eligibility). The individual will leverage their project management experience to ensure that all initiatives are successfully executed and meet mission-critical objectives.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7-10 years experience, or a Masters Degree plus 5 years of experience.
  • Possess a Master of Business and Management (MBM), a Master of Business Administration (MBA), or a master’s degree in a related technical discipline (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, or Electronics).

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Possess a minimum of ten years of Project Management experience managing complex projects in an IT engineering or big data environment.
  • Possess a minimum of an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility
  • Possess a minimum of five years of experience managing projects utilizing non-traditional program management methodologies (e.g., Agile) in big data, AI/MLOps, and DevSecOps environments.
  • Possess a minimum of five years of experience in a military or other Government environment performing in a related subject area (e.g., project management, engineering, or computer science).
  • Ability to track and report aggregated personnel utilization and budget usage across the Search portfolio.
  • Strong communications skills: Ability to proactively engage fellow CDAO members within and beyond the team as well as DoD cross-organizational communications.
  • Possess an active certification in one of the following:
    • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional, PMI Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification, or equivalent program or project management certification.
