Position Summary:

ABSC is seeking a full-time, temporary Talent Acquisition Specialist to provide recruiting support during a period of increased hiring activity. Working under the direction of the Director of Talent Acquisition, this individual will support recruiting efforts by sourcing qualified candidates, conducting initial phone screens, coordinating interviews, and assisting with recruiting activities across technical, cleared, corporate, and professional positions.

The ideal candidate enjoys the challenge of sourcing and identifying exceptional talent, is highly organized, and takes pride in producing high-quality work. This role is best suited for someone who is execution-focused, naturally curious, and thrives in a collaborative support role while working within established recruiting processes.

Success in this role requires someone who enjoys executing, collaborating, and supporting team goals while remaining adaptable to changing priorities, direction, and business needs. The successful candidate is coachable, receptive to feedback, dependable, and exercises sound judgment while taking appropriate initiative within established recruiting processes.

This is an initial three-month temporary assignment working approximately 40 hours per week. Extensions beyond the initial assignment may be considered based on business needs and individual performance but are not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Talent Acquisition by executing recruiting activities for assigned government contracting and corporate requisitions.
  • Proactively source and identify qualified candidates through various job boards, professional networks, employee referrals, candidate databases, and creative sourcing strategies.
  • Build and maintain proactive candidate pipelines for current openings and anticipated hiring needs.
  • Recruit candidates for technical, engineering, cybersecurity, intelligence, program management, operations, corporate and cleared positions.
  • Identify and engage candidates with active Top Secret, TS/SCI and Poly security clearances.
  • Conduct initial phone screens to evaluate candidate qualifications, experience, clearance status, compensation expectations, availability, and overall fit.
  • Present qualified candidates with detailed and accurate screening notes.
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates, hiring managers and interview teams.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and recruiting activity within the Applicant Tracking System in real time.
  • Ensure timely communication and exceptional candidate experience throughout the recruiting process.
  • Assist with recruiting efforts supporting new contract awards, proposal activity, contract transitions, and incumbent capture efforts.
  • Assist with drafting and posting job descriptions as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling candidate and company information.
  • Adapt quickly as recruiting priorities and business needs evolve.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of recruiting, talent acquisition, or sourcing experience.
  • Experience sourcing candidates using recruiting platforms.
  • Experience recruiting technical, professional, government contracting and cleared positions preferred.
  • Experience conducting candidate phone screens and evaluating candidate qualifications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working within an Applicant Tracking System.
  • Ability to manage multiple recruiting priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within established recruiting processes while exercising good judgment and appropriate initiative.
  • Must provide and maintain the necessary technology required to perform the essential functions of this remote position, including a personal computer/laptop, reliable high-speed internet access, and telephone service. Company-issued equipment is not provided for this temporary assignment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience recruiting candidates with Top Secret, TS/SCI, or polygraph clearances.
  • Familiarity with government contracting recruiting.
  • Experience supporting proposal recruiting, contingent hiring, or contract transitions.
  • Experience recruiting within defense, intelligence, cybersecurity, information technology, engineering, or professional services.

What Will Make You Successful:

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys the challenge of finding exceptional talent and takes pride in delivering high-quality recruiting support.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • A passion for sourcing and proactively identifying great talent.
  • A naturally curious mindset and enthusiasm for creative recruiting.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Dependability and consistent follow-through.
  • The ability to work independently while following established recruiting processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within established recruiting processes while exercising good judgment and appropriate initiative.
  • A coachable attitude with a willingness to receive feedback and continuously improve.
  • The confidence to ask thoughtful questions when expectations or priorities are unclear rather than making assumptions.
  • Adaptability and flexibility as business needs and recruiting priorities change.
  • A collaborative mindset that values team success over individual recognition.
  • Professionalism, integrity, accountability, and responsiveness in all interactions.
  • The ability to balance initiative with sound judgment while supporting established recruiting strategies and processes.

Schedule:

  • Full-time (approximately 40 hours per week)
  • Flexible schedule based on recruiting activity and business needs
  • Initial three-month temporary assignment

Extensions beyond the initial assignment may be considered based on business needs and individual performance but are not guaranteed.

Compensation:

This temporary position is compensated at a rate of $5,000 per month (equivalent to $2,500 per biweekly pay period) for the duration of the three-month assignment. In addition, the selected candidate will be eligible to earn a hiring bonus for each successful hire made during the assignment.
